It’s All In The Mind – Daily Tips To Reduce Anxiety Symptoms

Living with anxiety is somewhat hard for you to accept. You’ll experience the annoying signs and symptoms such as sleeping problems, uncontrollable nerves, increased heart palpitation, difficulty in breathing, dizziness and so on. If you think that you’re the only one who has this strange condition, you’re not alone.

Lots of people today are suffering from anxiety due to stress, depression, phobias, panic disorders, etc. In other words, anxiety is more on psychological issues. Most of the doctors say that it’s psychological stuff once you mention your signs and symptoms to them.

If you’re one of those who suffered anxiety today, probably you don’t like living with it till the end. It may bother when you’re working, playing, or even sleeping at night. However, every problem has a solution.

Here are some tips for you to reduce symptoms of anxiety disorder.

Limit Your Intake Of Caffeinated Drinks

Although there’s nothing wrong for anxiety patients to drink caffeinated drinks, there’s a quick catch behind it. Caffeinated drinks like coffee can trigger your nerves after a few minutes of drinking it. As a result, you’ll notice some light, but uncontrollable body shakes in hands, arms and legs.

Important tip: Make sure you’ll drink one to two glasses of filtered water after drinking coffee. It’ll help relieve and manage your nerves a bit.

Don’t Skip Exercising Regularly

You can’t make anxiety as an excuse for not exercising daily. You’ll not get healthy by just eating fruits and veggies alone. It’s essential for your body to get involved physically for at least 15 to 20 minutes a day, and not more than that.

Since increased heart palpitation is one of its signs, don’t aim for more than 20 minutes in exercising. In case you do, try taking a break for five minutes or less before going back to exercising.

If you’re one of those people who have anxiety, you can start off with these exercises:

  • Outdoor biking/Indoor cycling with bike trainer or stationary bike
  • Walking or jogging in the park for 10 to 20 minutes a day
  • Stretching and other cardiovascular exercises
  • Breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Light sports activity (but not limited to basketball, soccer, etc.)

Never Sleep For Less Than 6 Hours A Day

Sleeping for less than 6 hours can’t keep your body healthy. An average healthy person sleeps between 6 to 8 hours a day. It’s not healthy to oversleep either, as it causes weight gain. Sleeping less can cause anxiety symptoms to trigger a lot. As a result, it causes trembling or chilling effect to most of your body.

how to get rid of stress in simple ways

Important tip: Anxiety symptoms may trigger when you’re lying on the bed. Before you sleep, take time to do deep breathing for a few minutes. It’ll help relax your nerves a bit for you to have a comfortable sleep.

Taking Multivitamins Were Never An Option

Who says that multivitamins is just optional? Well, most of us today aren’t aware how important multivitamins are. Although fruits, vegetables and protein-rich foods are recommended for a healthy living, it’s not enough to manage your anxiety disorder. Free radicals like stress, radiation, pollution and other toxins are damaging your cells.

As a result, you are prone to chronic illnesses and conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, cancer, etc. Stress is one reason that you’re suffering from anxiety, and it can’t be avoided when you work, finishing projects, etc. Although it can’t replace a proper diet, multivitamins bridge the gap of micronutrient deficiency.

Make sure when you buy a multivitamin, you need to know if it’s:

  • Complete
  • Potent (contents in the label should be 100% available)
  • Balanced (synergy with other nutrients)
  • Bioavailability(percentage of nutrients that goes into your blood)
  • Safe (no side effects, contraindications, adverse reactions, not synthetic, etc.)

Don’t Feed Your Mind With Negative Thoughts

One of the reasons that your body’s going crazy with anxiety is due to negative thoughts. Once you are scared or worrying about something, you’re attracting negative things to your mind. As a result, your anxiety symptoms start to trigger. You need to attract your mind into something positive in all life aspects. Once you attract positive thoughts to you mostly, you’ll feel great and energized.

Here are some ways to feed your mind with positive thoughts and energy:

  • Watching and listening to motivational and inspirational videos or audios
  • Read self-help books and quotes
  • Make friends with people or group who are positive-minded

Conclusion

However, the most important tip of all is to ask guidance from God. He is your greatest Healer and Provider. Sad to say that anxiety has no cure, however it can be managed by applying one or more of these tips aside from praying alone. Don’t think of anxiety as the one who ruins your daily life, but rather as an advantage to make you stronger and better than before.
