We all read about celebrities and their New Year’s cleanse. They want to rid their bodies of impurities for the upcoming year, and they want to lose weight while doing so. So, why can’t us normal people also do these cleanses to detoxify our colon? I have come up with 7 easy to follow steps into how us normal people can detoxify our colons. Just to warn you, this can be pretty disgusting, but you will feel better once you do it.
Make sure you set a weekend where you can just detoxify your colon and not have any parties or any outings for that matter. You will not want to be far from home while completing this challenge. Good luck!
We will start off the safe way by mentioning avocados. They are very high in fiber, and when eating a lot, you will start to feel the burn. Avocados have both soluble and insoluble fiber which is quite unique for food.
If you must eat food while on this detox, I highly recommend eating lots of avocados. This does not mean eating guacamole and tortilla chips all weekend; this means eating the actual avocado all weekend. Make sure you drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
What is a detox without one of the top colon cleanses? Use the old fashion one that numerous celebrities swear by apple cider vinegar. I tried this once, and I have been turned off to apple cider vinegar ever since. This stuff is quite potent, so users beware.
You will want to mix one tablespoon apple cider vinegar into a glass of water. Add some lemon juice, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and ground ginger as well. If this is too strong for you, then you can add some raw honey to the mixture. You can sip on this colon cleanse for 3 days straight. After having this for 3 days, you will know why I will not touch this stuff ever again.
Flax seeds are high in good fats and fiber, therefore a good way to cleanse your colon safely. With the healthy omega 3 fats, they aid in healthy digestion and reduce inflammation. You are probably wondering how you can eat flax seeds. You can eat them by mixing them with your foods such as salads or soups.
What better way to do a colon cleanse than to add flax seeds to your avocado? Put them in your leafy green salad and enjoy real healthy foods to eat while doing a skin cleanse.
Salt water cleanse
This is another cleanse in which I will no longer take part of. Not only does this taste like you wiped out in the ocean, but you also have to drink half your body weight in water along with it. Being hydrated will relieve constipation and get rid of the toxic build up in your colon. Just think about how much better you will feel after drinking 80 oz. of water and a light salad with flax seeds three times a day for three days. You will be light as a feather.
Just think green fruits and vegetables. That is what chlorophyll is. Enjoy lots of spinach, olives, celery, cabbage, sprouts, asparagus, seaweed, leeks, peas, broccoli and so much more! These ingredients can be put into a salad and will keep you full with the amount of fiber in them, and they will cleanse your digestive track.
Chlorophyll will also kill bacteria growing along the lining of your intestinal wall. Beat that! These are delicious foods to eat!
I read that Madonna eats a macrobiotic diet, so this is right up your alley if you are a fan of hers. Think eating lots of probiotic and fermented foods like vegetables called kimchi and then having lots of macrobiotic beverages like water or kombucha tea.
If you have not done this diet before, I can tell you your body will be in pain during the first hours, and you will not be leaving the house for at least 3 or 4 days. It is quite rough.
Do all of These For a Weekend
This is probably the ultimate cleanse. If you combine the above 6 diet cleanses, and use them for an entire weekend, You will be quite hydrated, and have plenty of fiber in your diet. The good part is, is that you will not be bored of any one food choice.
You can eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, but you will be able to choose which ones are right for whichever meal. The difficult part will be breakfast since most items on the list are not breakfast friendly. Your best bet is the apple cider vinegar.
