Top 5 Natural Skin Lightening Techniques You Can Try At Home

It is relatively inexpensive and if you cannot find it at your grocery store you should be able to find it at a health food store, or you can even purchase it online in bulk. To create your mask, use a small bowl to combine your turmeric powder and water. Stir the mixture until it is smooth and apply it to the entire surface of the skin. Leave it on for about ten minutes and rinse it off with cold water. Be sure that you take off all of the turmerics. Also don’t be alarmed if your hands become stained from the turmeric and take on its bright orange color. It will fade.

Turmeric has the ability to brighten the skin because the natural compounds in turmeric put a halt to the over production of melanin. Melanin is the natural substance in the skin that provides it with its pigment, or color. Applying turmeric does not completely stop the production of melanin, it only slows it down enough to brighten the skin a few shades when regularly used over time.

2. Use Apple Cider Vinegar


  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons purified water

Apple cider vinegar has many uses for the body some people use it for a skin cleanser and some even use it in their hair for a clarifying hair rinse. Apple cider vinegar can also be used to lighten the skin. In this recipe we have diluted the vinegar with water because vinegar on its own can be quite a shock to the skin and eyes. You should not pour the mixture on your face because if it comes into direct contact with the eyes it will sting. You should apply the mixture to the skin by using a cotton pad and rinse with cold water.

This method will give you control over where the solution is going. You should only use this mixture a couple of times per week. The apple cider vinegar is very effective for skin lightening. It also tightens the pores, reduces oil overproduction, and reduces inflammation. The only downside is the sour smell, but you’ll get over it once you see your gorgeous complexion.

3. Use Lemon Juice


  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons purified water

Lemon is another ingredient that has the natural capability to lighten the skin. Apply this solution the same way that you applied the vinegar solution. Mix it with water, use a cotton pad to apply it to the face, leave it on for about ten minutes, and rinse it with cold water.

Lemon juice has the ability to lighten the skin thanks to the vitamin C that lemons are packed with. They naturally remove dark spots from the skin and leave you with a bright, even complexion. You should only be using this solution twice a week because the amount of acid that lemons have can be harsh on the skin if you use lemon juice on the skin too often.

4. Apply a Yogurt Mask


  • 2 tablespoons of full fat all natural yogurt

Yogurt is very gentle so it is a great option for those whose skin may be irritated by the previous lightening ingredients that we have listed in this article. It is good for the skin primarily due to the lactic acid that it is fortified with. Lactic acid naturally brightens the skin and it also has the capability to pull moisture from the air and into the skin which makes it great for balancing out oily skin and hydrating dry skin. Just apply the yogurt to the skin, let it sit for ten minutes, and rinse it with cold water.

5. Make An Olive Oil Moisturizer


  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil

This last option is by far the most moisturizing. Just apply the olive oil over the surface of the skin and work it in until it is completely absorbed. The nutrients that olive oil contains even out the tone of your skin and it leaves your skin looking beautiful as well as very soft and supple.
